Dear Colonnade,

Really for the first time since I came here in the fall of 1996, I am embarrassed. Oh sure, I’ve had embarrassing things happen to me from time to time in the last six years, but this is different.
Yesterday, someone, who claims to have the same faith as me, embarrassed himself in the name of his faith and therefore embarrassed me.

Imagine you just aced your biology exam, you are at your favorite bar, and you just got your favorite drink. The only problem is that you are also under 21. Two sips later, the cops burst into the bar, arrest you, and take you to the police station. You’ve had other friends arrested before, and you know that you will have to pay a hefty fine but your not sure exactly how much.

Dear Editor:

Let us lay to rest, please, the shouts of “class warfare!” That charge invariably comes from those who either do not know the facts or those who are winning the war. In any event, merely labeling economics with the interests of working people in mind as “class warfare” is not an argument
that such measures are not just or good for our economy.
