The largest category of solid waste going into Georgia’s landfills is food waste. In 2010 there were 34 million tons of food waste alone, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
A recent Georgia College graduate who now works for the school has complained to local authorities about “harassing” and “threatening” text messages that, according to a police report, a Milledgeville city councilman began sending her late last year.

The city of Milledgeville, Baldwin County and Georgia College are in the process of redeveloping Central State Hospital into a center for rural health care delivery and education.
