The bands were announced on Thursday, Jan. 5 via social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.

SGA President Evan Karanovich says homecoming has been an ongoing project for the past five years.

“A great deal of time, energy and talent have been spent bringing it to the level you see today,” Karanovich said. “I am excited about the opportunity of having quality performers, such as Third Eye Blind and the Eric Dodd Band, join in the celebration.”

According to Karanovich Eric Dodd has the ability to cover all areas of music from rock to country and has a connection to Georgia College.

“He has some ties to Georgia College, as he was a student here for some time,” Karanovich said. “It is nice to have him join as the opening act and we know he will continue to climb the music scene.”

As far as Homecoming as a whole Karanovich says, “Homecoming is such an important time for us as a university and we hope that this concert can provide an opportunity for the entire Georgia College community to come together for a night of fun and entertainment.”

The Homecoming theme is  ”Back to the Future time moves forward, memories remain.”
