The Georgia College basketball teams both emerged victorious in their Jan. 17 Peach Belt Conference matchups at the Centennial Center against Flagler College.

The Saints would eventually cut the lead down to 12 midway through the second half at 64-52, but the Bobcats tightened back up and finished strong with the victory. Senior forward Tierra Ford led Flagler with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore guard Arianna Roper had 12 points, and sophomore guard Charlsea Owen added 11 points

The men’s game was tight up through the 7:27 mark in the first half, before the Bobcats (9-4, 3-2) went on a 15-5 tear to take a 42-30 lead into halftime.

Georgia College had a well-balanced offensive attack as six players finished with double-digit point totals. Junior guard Jared Holmes led the way with 15 points and four rebounds, junior forward Ryan Aquino had 13 points and 10 rebounds, and senior forward Josh Hurst had 10 points and a career-high 15 rebounds.
