Issue 3 Props & Slops

Once again, the best and worst of last week’s paper. :) Let me know if you agree or disagree. Or as always, if you spot something I don’t see let me know by:

Slops:

So on the front page there’s this really awesome of Herty Hall. And unfortunately there was a typo. We were writing the cutline and changed the sentence, just the word With from our original thought is still there. Other than that, it’s a great shot and an awesome package!

The Litter Box is where people get to send in vents to us. And I just save them in a word document on the desktop. Well I forgot to delete one from last week so the one that’s circled ran twice. I apologize.

This was an amazing package! And a very detailed great article. The graphic at the bottom was fantastic!!! I really can’t say enough good things. Katelyn did a great job with the headline too! I love our package screen (the pale color in the background).









This was another fantastic package in the Features section. Aubrie was so awesome in her reporting and she made that graphic on her own without being asked too! Mandy wrote a clever headline too! The deckhead is a tad big, but that’s the only flaw, all-in-all one of the best packages we’ve done. And I love that Mandy made the decision to not put the usually border around the graphic!

Man we were on a role with packages. In the sports section, there was a great piece on the man behind the sports information, Al Weston. Al is the reason our sports section is around. He hooks us up with interviews from players and coaches when we need them. Lauren did a great job with the photo and Scotty laid it out beautifully!

The community news page was in color! It looked so beautiful. Rebecca did a great job with by the numbers box and beyond the columns. Overall the whole page was beautiful and informative.
