Flashback

Many new buildings and renovations were completed at Georgia State College for Women by October 1949. One of the then-new buildings, Parkhurst Hall, was a $35,000 model residence used as a home management house by the home economics division as well as a faculty apartment building. It included 12 family-sized apartments, four efficiency apartments, and three single rooms. The Ina Dillard Russell Library had a ground floor added which houses the museum, storage rooms and an office. Other buildings, including Bell, Parks, Terrell, Mansion and Atkinson Halls, underwent renovations.
