Colonnade history:
Orientation Week Keeps Frosh Busy: 550 freshmen moved into the dorms on Sept. 19, more than a month later than they do now. They went to social events such as a movie shown in Russell Auditorium, but Orientation Week was not all fun and games. The freshmen had to take placement exams in a variety of subjects, like English, mathematics, science, psychology, French and secretarial skills.

Freshmen participate in “Rat Week” and Georgia College. Freshmen where “rat caps” and participate in a week of events to welcome them to the school. Calling freshmen “rats” seen as a term of endearment.
