The Public Safety Report
On Nov. 15, at approximately 8:38 p.m. two students reported a suspicious male that was following them from the area of the McIntosh House to Adams Hall. The students ran to Adams Hall and when they turned around, they could no longer see the male. The case has been turned over to Detective Butler.
Home Grown
On Nov. 18, at approximately 12:46 a.m. a student reported marijuana being found in a student’s room. Contact was made with the student, who had a baggie of marijuana and two pipes. He admitted that the marijuana was his and that he had gotten it from home and would not bring any more marijuana on GCSU property. The marijuana and pipes were confiscated. The case has been turned over to Student Judiciary.
Too Much Trouble
On Nov. 19, at approximately 2:12 a.m. Sgt. Pissott observed a vehicle on Montgomery Street swerve into the eastbound lane, then made a right turn from the left turn lane onto Columbia Street, veering over the yellow lines into the southbound lane. Before the stop was initiated, Sgt. Pissott observed the driver not wearing a seatbelt. A traffic stop was initiated and contact made with the driver. He had watery bloodshot eyes and the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He was also wearing two wristbands that are typically given to bar patrons. He advised that he did not drink alcohol and refused testing on the Intoxilyzer 5000. He did not have a drivers license and the Mexican passport and other ID cards he had in his wallet had different dates of birth. The individual was arrested and transported to Milledgeville PD and issued citations for DUI, Driving While Unlicensed, Failure to Maintain Single Lane, Improper Right Turn and Seatbelt Violation. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Old Capitol Wrecker Service.
Burned?
On Nov. 18, at approximately 12:49 p.m a student reported that there were burn marks on her door at Foundation Hall. The student advised that she does not know when or how the marks were made on her door.
Falling Cabinets
On Nov. 20, at approximately 3:22 p.m. an individual contacted Public Safety in reference to a cabinet falling and broken glass strewn throughout the room. Physical Plant was called to clean up the glass. All overhead cabinets will be emptied and Physical Plant will inspect them on Nov. 25. There were no injuries.
Missing Baskets
On Nov. 19, at approximately 8:02 p.m. a student advised that while playing basketball at the Centennial Center, he had sat his wallet and keys on a table. He advised that he observed 3 black males and 1 white male in the area of the table. One of the males spoke to him and then left. He advised that he noticed his wallet missing and went outside and confronted one of the males, who became very defensive. The four males then left in a silver or tan SUV. The case has been turned over to Detective Butler.
