Editor’s Blog August 7, 2008
Date: August 7, 2008
Time: 3:30 A.M.
This is the first post of many to come from the new Colonnade Editor’s Blog. This is Lee Sandow, the Web Editor, posting tonight. Why not the Editor in Chief? It’s 3:30-ish in the morning and he’s far too busy getting the real paper together, so for tonight, I’ll just have to do.
So what are our plans for this page? Well, for starters we plan to update it every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. A different editor will post every time, and whether we have a schedule of who writes when or not remains to be seen.
What will we write about? Whatever is on our minds.
Right now, I want to talk about late nights at work and what we’re doing right now as we work to get the Week of Welcome issue on the newsstands.
You’ll notice that the timestamp of this article is 3:30 in the morning. Yeah, we’re still in our office cracking away at getting this particular issue of The Colonnade put to bed (That’s journalism lingo for getting this sucker done and to our publisher.), and hoping to get some sleep tonight.
In the meantime, we engage in ridiculous (and entirely non-sensical) conversation to keep us awake, jokes so bad in both quality and cleanliness that our own mothers would disown us and the occasional joust fight in our rolling chairs in the hallway outside our office.
I wish I were kidding.
The paper is coming together nicely, and the new staff is really excited about the new year here at the paper. About as excited as I am right now about the possibility of finding my way back to my house before the sun finds it. It might be a close race.
We’ll let you in on more of our late night secrets in an upcoming edition of The Colonnade’s blog. For right now though, we’re gonna get this paper out the door for all of your reading pleasures.
So read up, or you may just break my tender little heart.
Lee Sandow
Web Editor
EDIT: The sun totally beat me home. By about four hours.
