Blue & Green like you’ve never seen

The campus is bustling this week with an array of election posters and rainbow hued sidewalks as the student body prepares itself for the biggest homecoming this school has ever displayed. Semester long hype and a week long celebration have Homecoming on everyone’s brain.
Monday, Feb.25 commenced Homecoming week as students took advantage of the $5 college bowl night at Baldwin Bowling Center to benefit Big Brothers and Big Sisters’ Bowl for Kids Sake.
Freshman marketing major and Zeta Tau Alpha member Emily Beatty bowled the night away in a packed bowling alley.
“I came here because a friend of mine thought it would be fun,” Beatty said. “It’s fun because I get community hours, hang-out with my friends, and it’s for a good cause.”
Incorporating events with homecoming, such as the Bowl for Kids’ Sake, has definitely added fun and camaraderie to the otherwise lackluster Homecomings of the past. But with an invigorated effort, GCSU is sure to make this year’s Homecoming an affair to remember.
“I really hope they continue having events like these in the future,” Lesley Chestnut, a nursing major, said. “It gives the students something to do and get excited about.”
And while the weather may have dampened the outdoor dinner and bonfire event, the campus seems to hardly miss the buzz of on going promotions and activities.
“I am most definitely excited about Homecoming this year,” Freshman Fabianna Field-Green said. “I love how the school is getting really in to it.”
Campus offices are also getting into the swing of things with an array of blues and greens adorning hallways, rooms and little knick-knacks in the offices.
It’s definitely been a Blue & Green campus like this school has never seen.
