Reaction to The Colonnade student reviews

Reviews by The Colonnade staff of campus productions have come into question. The student reporters are either invited to events or go on their own accord. Writers review the event from a student perspective. People may prefer a more specialized opinion than The Colonnade writer; however, we are writing these reviews from a student perspective to be read by the students who may attend. Most often, students that attend on-campus events are not going to be experts on the material being presented, whether it is a lecture or entertainment. We hope that the reviews give insight the general student population needs to make decisions on attending the event or upcoming events. To be reviewed by any media is good. Organizations should focus on getting their name out to the public. Plus, if it is a bad review, they will know what to work on in the future. Just remember the famous saying “there is no such thing as bad publicity.” We hope to continue reviewing as many on-campus activities as we can. They inform people on what our campus has to offer as well as how diverse we are. If you have any ideas for reviews on forthcoming events, please email The Colonnade at Colonnadeletters.com.
