Curse words
On April 6, 2007, at approximately 9:15 a.m., Sgt. Ennis was dispatched to Napier Hall in reference to an unruly student. A student reported that a male student had gone to a resident assistant’s room and used profanities towards her. The individual’s actions stemmed from a previous case at 3:15 a.m. that morning. A notice of disciplinary action was filed against the student.
Verbal disagreement
On April 6, 2007, at approximately 8:54 p.m., Sgt. English was dispatched to The Village at West Campus reference to an argument. Contact was made with a male and female who had been arguing. There were no visible injuries to either party, the female was verbally trespassed from The Village and advised not to make contact with the male student.
Blog threat
On April 8, 2007, at approximately 7:18 p.m., a student reported to Public Safety that his ex-girlfriend was manic depressive and he had found a posting on a blog page on the Internet which vaguely threatened him in the sentence: “He will pay for this.” The student was advised to avoid contact with his ex-girlfriend and if he saw her anywhere around him to contact Public Safety, as she is not a student and does not live in Milledgeville.
One brake light
On April 10, 2007, at approximately 2:23 a.m., Officer Pissott observed a vehicle on Jefferson Street with only one functioning brake light. A traffic stop was conducted and contact was made with the driver. While speaking with the driver, Officer Pissott could detect a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. When tested on the Intoxilyzer 5000, the driver registered .151 and was arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department and charged with DUI. The vehicle was secured and left at the scene of the stop.
Library loiterers
On April 10, 2007, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Sgt. Tuft and Officer Lance made contact with five suspicious juvenile males in the library. Three of the juveniles had previously been trespassed from GCSU. The other two individuals were trespassed from GCSU. They all were advised that if they return, they could be arrested and charged with criminal trespass.
Changing lanes
On April 11, 2007, at approximately 8:20 a.m., while on patrol, Officer Gaines observed a vehicle turn into his lane of traffic while turning from Hancock to Irwin Street. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver who had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person along with bloodshot and glassy eyes. When asked to perform field sobriety tests, the driver was not able to perform them as instructed. The individual refused implied consent and was arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department. He was charged with DUI under 21 and failure to maintain a lane. The vehicle was secured and towed.
