Last week I focused my column on whether the men’s basketball team was a contender or a pretender. This week, I will direct my attention towards the ladies and examine whether they are contenders or pretenders. The ladies are contenders. They have the talent and leadership to not only win the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Championship, but also to go deep into the NCAA Tournament.

The Intramural Soccer and Ultimate Disc leagues, despite inclement weather, finished their seasons last week and will begin the playoffs on Monday, Nov. 27. Although successful in running both leagues at the same time, it has been challenging for the intramural program.

GCSU basketball ended its pre-season schedule in Macon on a high note as both the men and women defeated Mercer last week. The Bobcats used this exhibition game to test their lineups against NCAA Division 1 competition. The ladies tipped off on Nov. 7 with the men following Nov.

The trashcan was a give-away On Nov. 10, at approximately 10 a.m., Officer Williams observed a male with a trashcan walking on Montgomery Street.
