Man insists on finishing nap in jail
April 7, 1:06 a.m.: Officer Gaines observed a person passed out on the sidewalk at McIntosh and Wayne Streets. Contact was made with the male. Officer Gaines woke him and told him to start walking home. The male refused and became agitated and insisted on sleeping. Mr. Jones became aggressive and he was placed under arrest and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department.
Stolen credit card used in California, found in Milledgeville
April 10, 10:53 a.m.: A man advised items were ordered on-line from his company in California. The items were delivered to an apartment on West Montgomery Street. The credit card used to purchase the items was reported as stolen.
Vehicle vandalism at Sanford Hall lot
April 10, 6:58 p.m.: A student reported that between April 1 and 9 unknown person(s) keyed her vehicle while it was parked in the Sanford Hall parking lot.
Digital camera stolen…or just dropped?
April 7, 2:25 p.m.: A student reported that on April 4 she left Wells Hall and when she returned, her digital camera was gone. She advised that she probably dropped the camera on her way out of Wells.
Bobcat Village sidewalks prove dangerous
April 7, 2:25 p.m.: A student reported that a fellow student had fallen on the sidewalk at Bobcat Village near building 500 and possibly broke her ankle. The student was taken to Oconee Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Two drivers have too much fun Friday night
April 7, 12:47 a.m.: Officer English observed a vehicle on Montgomery Street disregard a red light. A traffic stop was initiated and contact made with the driver. Officer English observed that the driver had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. He also could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. The driver was tested and registered .053. She was arrested and the passenger in the vehicle also admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages and was arrested as well.
April 7, 2:58 a.m.: Officer Gaines observed a vehicle on Montgomery Street with one headlight out. A traffic stop was initiated and contact made with the driver. Officer Gaines could detect the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the driver. Field Sobriety tests were given that the driver could not perform as instructed and he registered .120 when tested for alcohol. He was arrested and the vehicle was left at the scene of the stop per driver’s request.
