Drunken joy ride on stolen golf cart ends with jail time
March 25, 3 a.m.: An employee reported that a University Housing golf cart was taken without permission from Bobcat Village. The police arrived on the scene and saw three persons on the cart in the intramural field. Contact was made with the three students. They all admitted to taking the golf cart without permission and also drinking alcohol earlier that night. All three subjects were arrested. Student Disciplinaries were filed on the students.
Poultry crimes believed to be related
March 26, 10:31 p.m.: Two students reported that their vehicles were “egged”. One advised his vehicle had been “egged” at the intersection of Montgomery and Columbia Streets and the other advised his vehicle had been “egged” while his vehicle was parked in the gravel lot of Adams Hall. There are no witnesses or suspects.
Thieves find no one home, leave damage
March 26, 6:11 a.m.: A student reported that unknown person(s) damaged the door to his room at Adams Hall. He advised he had left his room at 5:00 p.m. Friday night and received a call at 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning about his door. Statements were taken.
Thieves hoping for copper price to rise
March 27, 7:45 a.m.: An employee of the Garbutt Construction Company, advised that over the weekend, unknown person(s) cut a chain off a door to Bell Hall and stole approximately $2,500 worth of assorted copper pipes and fittings.
Superstitious assailant smashes seven shafts
March 22, 8:47 a.m.: An employee reported that during the week of Spring Break, unknown person(s) broke seven posts on top of the portico of building 200 at Bobcat Village. Each post is valued at $150. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.
