Keyboard removed in biohazard bag
March 10, 8:25 a.m. Ina Dillard Russell Library: An employee reported finding a threatening note on the keyboard of a computer. The note stated “please take caution, this keyboard is poisonous.” The keyboard was placed in a biohazard evidence bag and removed from the library.
Suspicions reveal cocaine and handgun
March 9, 12:07 a.m. Lower parking deck: Officer Williams observed several males playing music and talking loudly. Contact was made with the subjects and Officer Williams requested ID cards from them. One of the subjects took off running. The man was apprehended on Wayne Street. Upon a search of his person, an unidentified amount of crack cocaine was found. A search of the suspect’s vehicle revealed a handgun. The runner was arrested and the owner of the vehicle were arrested and released to Milledgeville Detention.
Tension grows strong between roommates
March 8, 11:24 p.m. Bobcat Village: A student reported that she and her roommate were incompatible and that they had a disagreement. The roommate stated that the other student trashed her room, which the accused student denies. The incident has been turned over to housing.
Officer could smell the law being broken
March 9, 10:27 p.m. Franklin and Columbia Street: While conducting a license check, a police officer made contact with a vehicle occupied by three males. While speaking with the occupants, the officer could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. After a search of the vehicle and occupants, a small amount of marijuana was found. No one in the vehicle admitted to ownership of the marijuana, but all admitted to smoking it. All three were arrested.
Negotiations break down, cell phone taken
March 2, 11:00 p.m.: A student reported that another student had exchanged words and the other student grabbed his cell phone and ran down the hall. There was no physical altercation or property damage.
Bobcat card stolen and used for Sodexho meals
March 9, 11:58 a.m.: A student reported that between March 6 and 7 she had lost her Bobcat Card and unknown person(s) made purchases on her card at the MSU dining Hall and Chic-Fil-A. This case is under investigation.
Smoke in MSU remains a mystery
March 17, 8:49 p.m. Maxwell Student Union: An employee reported smoke in the cafeteria. Sgt. Tuft arrived and also smelled and saw smoke. The fire department responded and checked the area and was unable to determine the cause of the smoke.
