Dessert drinks used to damage student’s car

Feb. 19, 5:02 p.m.: A student reported that over the past several weeks, his car has been vandalized. The vandalism included bumper stickers on his car doors, Oreo blizzards being dumped on the front windshield, a fruit smoothie being poured on the back window, Coca-Cola being poured on the hood and broken bottles being placed behind all the tires of his vehicle. The student said he believes that his vehicle was parked in view of the cameras. The case has been turned over to the police.

Student loses temper in ping-pong match

Feb. 22, 2:49 p.m.: An employee reported damage to the multi-purpose room in Wells Hall. It appears that someone took a ping-pong paddle and went around the room indenting the sheet rock. There were approximately 40 indentations and a 3″ by 5″ hole in the wall. Pictures were taken of the damage and the case turned was over to the police.

Man loses touch, visits Centennial Center

Feb. 21, 1:52 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to The Centennial Center in reference to a suspicious person. Contact was made with a man who appeared to be in a confused state. The man advised that he was there to watch his daughter play in a basketball tournament. The tournament was not scheduled to begin for two days. When asked what the date was, the man stated it was March 13. The officer noticed that the man’s vehicle was parked in a space with the two front wheels over the curb and on the sidewalk. He was initially arrested for DUI, but was released when the man stated that his defibrillator was “going off.” the man was transported to Oconee Regional Medical Center and later released to his parents.

Authorities Facebook inside man nabs plaque thief

Feb. 28, 2:14 p.m.: A student reported that between August 2005 and this date, unknown persons removed a plaque from the College Republican office at the Student Activities Center. The plaque was seen on another student’s Facebook picture. The plaque was recovered by Detective Butler at an apartment and returned to its rightful owner(s).

Pyros burn their way to first crime of the month

March 1, 12:22 a.m.: A student reported that there were subjects burning objects in a room at Bobcat Village. Officer Williams arrived and made contact with five students, who had all been in the apartment. All the subjects appeared to be drinking and all denied knowledge of anyone burning items. A male student present was very intoxicated and stated he knew some of the others had been burning items. After thorough questioning, two of the students were arrested and transported to Milledgeville Police Department.
