Small drug bust at local parking deck

Feb. 18, 1:15 a.m.: An officer observed several suspicious persons in the lower parking deck on McIntosh Street. While speaking with the persons, he detected the odor of marijuana. The people stated that they had been smoking marijuana earlier at Bobcat Village and agreed to show the officer where the rest of it was. A small amount of marijuana was found near the bed of the female student who had admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the night. Several smoking devices were also found and confiscated. The female was written a Student Disciplinary.

Lying gets drunk man citation

Feb. 17, 2:15 a.m.: An officer observed a male walking down the sidewalk downtown with a bottle of beer in his hand. When the man saw the officer, he placed the bottle on the sidewalk. Contact was made with the man and he was instructed to place the bottle in a nearby trash can and he could be on his way. The male stated the bottle wasn’t his and refused to throw it away. The male was issued a citation and released him to a friend who stated they would make sure he got home safely.

Drunk male can’t get her back

Feb. 17, 3:30 a.m.: A student reported there was a suspicious male trying to gain entrance to Adams Hall. Contact was made with the male, who stated he was there to see his girlfriend. His alleged girlfriend stated it was over between them and she did not want to see him anymore. The male was transported to jail.

Rowdy student arrested after not paying cab fare

Feb. 22, 1:02 a.m.: Sgt. Ennis was dispatched to Napier Hall in reference to a student refusing to pay a taxi fare. Contact was made with the cab driver who had a male student restrained on the ground. Sgt. Ennis took control and smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the student. The student was advised that he was being arrested for underage possession of alcohol. While Sgt. Ennis was placing handcuffs on the suspect, the student ran from the scene. Sgt. Ennis then placed the student on the ground and requested backup. While waiting for backup to arrive, the student tried to kick Sgt. Ennis in the legs and was calling him derogatory names. While searching the male before he was transported, a fake ID was found on his person. Backup arrived and transported the suspect to jail.

Bag of marijuana found at Governor’s Mansion

Feb. 16, 9:00 a.m.: An employee discovered a small bag of what he appeared to be marijuana on the front lawn of the Old Governor’s Mansion and turned it in to the police. It is unknown at this time who possessed the marijuana prior to it being lost.

Unknown man spends night in Beeson Hall

Feb. 20, 8:00 a.m.: An employee reported an unidentified male was asleep in the first floor lobby area of Beeson Hall. No type of description could be given as the employee left the area upon visual contact.
