Liberals cause Conservatives to prosper

Dear Editor,

I would like to offer my deepest and most sincere thanks to Mr. Brian Shreve, Mr. Jim Lenahan (wrote letters to Editor), and all like minded radicals at this University.

It is through your tireless and unceasing efforts that the Conservative cause has grown and prospered. Each article you and your cohorts publish makes your agenda and politics look more insane to sensible minded Georgians. I probably shouldn’t let you in on this little secret, but just to level the playing field somewhat, I think I will. American Politics is based on forming a platform on the principles of either the right or the left, and then

convincing the majority of the population, which is moderate, that your platform is more sensible and attractive. This is why your party is quickly becoming an obsolete relic. You cannot reach out to the middle by condemning the Faith that the vast majority of the nation holds dear Mr. Lenahan. Mr. Shreve, do you think that inflammatory language fit for a high school gym fight is the proper way to address serious political issues?

What adjective can you call me for finding your argumentative form juvenile?

Mr. Shreve, I agree that the response to the Katrina tragedy was a terrible disaster. The last time I checked, state and local authorities still the have primary responsibility for disaster response and relief. You see, the Constitution specifically intended for these functions of government to be handled by the authorities closest to the people. I’m not assuming you have any knowledge of the Constitution, as it has very little value for radicals such as yourself; however, now that you,ve been informed of the basic facts

I pose another question: Could it be that the Democratic Governor of Louisiana and the Democratic Mayor of New Orleans are racist and intentionally abandoned the Katrina victims? I think the answer is no. The Democratic leadership in Louisiana was simply inept. What a surprise! You know, the state and local officials in Mississippi handled Katrina relief in a superb manner in comparison to Louisiana officials.

Finally, I would like to ask how you propose to handle the Islamic radicals that wish to terrorize the world? It seems to me that you are advocating a policy of appeasement. Appeasement was once considered a very proper and legitimate approach to dealing with radical dictators. Mr. Chamberlain said that this policy would bring “peace in our time.” Nevertheless, appeasement ultimately resulted in a couple of little affairs known as World War II and the Holocaust. So, let’s compare: Iraq death toll: tens of thousands. World War II/Holocaust death toll: tens of millions. I see your point Shreve!

Appeasement does look like a better approach doesn’t it?

Again I would like to reiterate my gratitude to you gentlemen. Georgia Conservatives are eternally grateful for your hard work and dedication to the Conservative cause. It is due in large part to your tireless efforts that the American public is moving toward the right to seek sanity and responsible government polices.

Yours, in most humble appreciation and eternal gratitude,

Sincerely,
Ian McMullen
