Wine: Mix one teaspoon of pH-balanced detergent and a cup of lukewarm water. Blot. Mix one-third of white household vinegar and two- thirds cup of water. Blot. Mix one teaspoon of pH-balanced detergent and a cup of lukewarm water. Sponge with clean water and blot.
Wax: Scrape as much of wax off as possible. Put ice cubes in zipper lock bag and rest over the area stained with wax. Scrape again. After using the “cold method,” use the “hot method” by using a blow dryer on high setting on the wax. Scrape again. Another “hot method” is to place an absorbent material such as a thick paper towel over the waxed area. Take a warm to hot iron and smooth over. The wax will either absorb into the material or will be easier to scrape. After either of these two methods, pre-soak stain in isopropyl rubbing alcohol for 30 minutes. Use a scrub brush. Rinse with water.
Coffee or Cola: Mix one teaspoon of pH- balanced detergent with a cup of lukewarm water. Blot. Mix one-third cup of white household vinegar with two-thirds of a cup of water. Blot and then sponge clean with water. Blot again.
Lipstick: Rub vegetable or mineral oil onto affected areas and allow to soak for 15 minutes. Blot excessive oil with absorbent paper towel or cloth; create a solution that is 50 percent ammonia and 50 percent water. Do not use this solution if you are treating silk or wool. Sponge clean with this solution. Rinse thoroughly with cool water and wring out. Sponge clean remaining stain with isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Wash in hot water.
