Forklift mishap breaks man’s foot
Jan. 23, 2:30 a.m.: An employee sustained injury while operating a forklift at the electric shop at Bobcat Village. The employee was backing the lift when his right foot got caught, causing a fracture to his foot. The man was transported to Oconee Regional Medical Center.
License check busts dealers
Jan. 12, 11:25 a.m.: While conducting a license check at Clarke/Washington Streets Officer G. Williams made contact with two students who smelled of marijuana. Both subjects stated that they knew nothing about the marijuana odor and gave consent for the vehicle to be searched. While searching the vehicle, a large amount of marijuana was found in a zip lock bag and $1572.49 in cash. The students were arrested for Felony Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute.
Stairwell sprayed, but no flames
Jan. 17, 9:24 a.m: A student reported that unknown person(s) had sprayed the stairwell of a building at Bobcat Village with a fire extinguisher. The fire extinguisher across from one room was missing and the extinguisher in front of another room had been completely discharged. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
Floor greased
Jan. 18, 8:52: An employee reported that unknown persons had smeared cooking oil on the entire floor of the kitchen area at Foundation Hall. The cooking oil also damaged a large section of carpet in the hallway. The case has been turned over to Detective Butler.
Roomates argue, one slapped
Jan. 18, 7:23 p.m.: A student, reported that her roommate slapped her in the face after an argument. Neither the victim nor the offender wanted to press charges. Statements were taken from all present.
He’ll have a toilet in his jail cell…
Jan. 20, 2:16 a.m.: Sgt. Ennis observed a male urinating in plain view at the Century Bank parking lot. Contact was made with the man, who tested positive for alcohol. The man was arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department.
