Drunk student trespasses in Foundation Hall

On Nov. 16, 2005, at about 10:30 p.m., a student reported that another student was in Foundation Hall, even though that student had been previously banned from the building. While Officer G. Williams was speaking with this student, he smelled an alcoholic beverage coming from the student. When tested, the student tested positive for alcohol. The student was arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department and charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol.

Kappa Alpha members cause a ruckus

On Nov. 16, 2005, at about 11:08 p.m., Officer G. Williams was dispatched due to a call about an unruly crowd. Before he could get there, he observed a pickup truck with many students riding in the bed. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the ten students, all Kappa Alpha members, riding in the back of the truck. All the students appeared to be drunk. While Officer Williams was questioning the students, several Kappa Alpha members were shouting profanities and getting in the way of the officer. When asked, the bystanding students refused to go back inside. Six of the occupants of the truck were arrested for Underage Possession of Alcohol, and two of the bystanders were referred to the Disciplinary Board for Disorderly Conduct.

Unescorted man searches Foundation Hall

On Nov. 20, 2005, at about 2:28 a.m., Sgt, Ennis was sent to Foundation Hall in reference to an unescorted person walking the halls. Contact was made with the man, who stated he was there to visit an international student. An RA told Sgt. Ennis that there were no international students in Foundation Hall. The man could not spell the name of the student he was looking for. The man was banned from all GC&SU residence halls indefinitely.

Hit and Run leads to chase and capture

On Nov. 21, 2005, at about 8:09 p.m., an employee reported that a vehicle had collided with the rear of the shuttle bus and had then fled the scene. The vehicle was spotted on Irwin Street. Officer G. Williams tried to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle would not pull over. The vehicle struck a parked tractor trailer, and then struck a curb, where it finally stopped. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot, but he was apprehended and placed under arrest. The driver, a student, was charged with DUI, Hit and Run, Attempting to Elude, Underage Possession of Alcohol and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign. The passenger, also a student, was arrested and charged with Allowing Intoxicated Person to Drive and Underage Possession of Alcohol. Georgia State Patrol worked the incident.

Drunk man challenges Officer Williams to fight

On Nov. 22, 2005, at about 1:52 a.m., Officer G. Williams was sent to Amici’s on Hancock Street in reference to a fight. When he arrived, there were many subjects on the sidewalk, and all were talking and yelling. One of the subjects began to walk away, but Officer Williams instructed him to stop. One of the other subjects started yelling profanities and tried to pick a fight with Officer Williams. Back up arrived, and both individuals were arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department, where they were charged with Drunk in Public and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. There were no students involved in the fighting.
