SGA Happenings: CMNC, open senator positions, Bookstore Task Force

Dear Editor,

Last week SGA allocated $800 to the CMNC (College Music Educator’s National Conference) that will take place Jan. 26-28 of 2006. The conference will be a tool to recruit talent for the future, and the money will be used to offset the hotel expenses.

Interested in being appointed senator next semester? SGA will be interviewing for the positions of senators next semester. If interested, E-mail Vice President Solano at zaira_solano@bobcat.gcsu.edu or President Johnson at sara_johnson@bobcat.gcsu.edu.

Congratulations to Peter Van Splunter who was newly appointed as a senator in SGA.

President Sara Johnson announced the possible creation of a new position called Chief of Staff that will be paid for the upcoming semester.

Student Services has been working diligently with the Board of Directors to progress the work on the closing hours of the cafeteria. They will be presenting their data to the Board of Directors in the near future.

The Bookstore Task Force will be presenting their findings and work to SGA and other RSO’s in the near future to help alleviate the cost of textbooks for the students.
