Loud noise draws cops to party
On Nov. 9, 2005, at about 7:55 p.m., Sgt. Ennis was sent to the Kappa Alpha House on W. Thomas Street due to a noise complaint. A nearby resident had called the police claiming that the house was making too much noise, and that there was also loud profanity and vulgarity. Contact was made with the president of the Kappa Alpha house, and he told Sgt. Ennis that he would be sure to fix the problem. Sgt. Ennis gave the house a strong warning about what the consequences would be if the problem persisted.
Driver found with outstanding theft warrant
On Nov. 10, 2005, at about 4:12 a.m., Officer Grant saw a vehicle on Montgomery Street with a headlights out. A traffic stop was initiated, with the driver, and a check through the GCIC found that the driver had warrants from Greene County for Theft by Taking. The driver was issued a warning for the headlight, and transported to the Baldwin County S.O., where a hold was placed on the Greene County case. The vehicle was left secured at the scene for a relative to retrieve it.
Vehicle towed on 13th infraction
On Nov. 11, 2005, at about 9:32 a.m., a parking attendant at lot 13 had Old Capitol Wrecker tow a vehicle that had 13 outstanding parking citations. The vehicle was impounded at Old Capitol Wrecker and a hold was placed on the vehicle.
Colonnade newspaper rack stolen from front of Parkhurst
On Nov. 11, 2005, at about noon a student reported that someone had stolen the Colonnade newspaper rack from outside of Parkhurst Hall. The box was stolen between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on the night of Nov. 11. Security cameras from outside of the building observed two males taking it. The case is under investigation.
