Fashion Fix

Dear Georgia College & State University Students,

I am writing a formal letter this week asking you to get real.

Clothes are a good thing! They keep us warm! They keep us cool! They keep us covered up! And they keep us protected!

For those reason’s alone, clothes are wonderful! So stop your bitching already!

If someone drops by and wants to have some fun, don’t make them wait hours till you feel comfortable in what you are wearing. The truth is the clothes don’t make the person- the person does.

And here is another dose of reality: You aren’t Paris Hilton!! But the bright side of that is: You aren’t Paris Hilton. Think Paris before you think Hilton. Your wardrobe will love you for it!

So before you rush and buy another US Weekly to decide what you should buy at the mall the next day, why don’t you examine your confidence level first? Hey, here’s an incentive: It might save you a buck or two!

I will stop my rant and rave for one second to say: Some people have money. Some people have lots of money. And for those people who are set up, buy whatever you want, even if that means you look like a queen on campus.

No one else has any right to be jealous of the expensive things that your family (or maybe you) have bought recently. That’s the beauty of ownership!

If following trends is a hobby of yours, by all means, skip over to Wal-mart and buy whatever you want. Because if it is a serious hobby, we all know that in America today it will just end up in Wal-mart anyway. (On a side note: Did you know that Wal-Mart is the biggest manufacturer of clothes in the whole world?)

And if fashion truly is a hobby, please start reading Vogue. They truly know what is up.
