SGA Happening: Bookstore task force, Sweetwater Festival
The Bookstore Task Force, headed by Michael Haun, marketing director of Auxiliary Services, met Wednesday and discussed further changes to the letter which will be sent to Anne Gormly, Vice-President and Dean of Faculties, for approval. The letter will address the issue of textbooks prices being lowered through further communication and cooperation with faculty member. After revision of the letter by Dr. Dan Bauer and approval of the letter by Anne Gormly, the task force will work to meet with deans, department secretaries and chairs, RHA and SGA. The meeting will be held next Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Atkinson 202.
The Sweetwater Festival will be held this weekend, starting today, with a barbeque competition downtown, Saturday will contain the majority of the activities, with a multitude of vendors throughout the day, Kids corner, numerous local bands playing all day, and big bands playing Saturday night starting at 7:00 p.m. for $2. All of downtown will be closed for the festival, so come out and enjoy the festival cosponsored by SGA.
Senator Chris Hamilton was honored as Senator of the Month by President Sara Johnson and SGA for his tremendous work in the Senate and in public relations during the month of October.
SGA senate meetings are held Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dogwood Conference Room in the Student Activities Center, and they are open to the Bobcat community. If you have any ideas or concerns, please feel free to attend one of the meetings.
