Two Central State patients wander to campus

On Oct. 21, 2005, at about 7:51 p.m., Sgt. Ennis was dispatched to the front campus at MSU in reference to 2 missing persons. The two missing persons were mental health residents from Central State Hospital, who were attending an event on the front campus. The attendant from Central State advised that the two missing patients were a white male and a white female. The Milledgeville Police Department and the Central State Police Department were told to be on lookout for these patients. The female was found on McIntosh Street, and the male was found on Wilkinson Street. Both patients were unharmed and returned to the front campus.

Student finds car jacked up on timber

On Oct. 22, 2005, at about 1:25 a.m., a student said that someone had jacked his vehicle up and put it on 4 pieces of cut wood while it was sitting in the parking lot at Bobcat Village. The student reported that this had happened before, and that it had been buddies from the fire department that had done it the first time. This time, though, the student believed that someone else had done it, because the style of the jacking up was different. Sgt. Ennis helped the student set the vehicle back down on the ground. There was no visible damage to the vehicle.

Student found urinating in front of Public Safety Building

On Oct. 28, 2005, at about 3 a.m., Officer G. Williams saw a male urinating in the bushes across from the Public Safety Building. The student pretended that he wasn’t doing anything when questioned by the police. The student appeared to be very intoxicated. The student was arrested and taken to the Milledgeville Police Department, where he was charged with Disorderly Conduct.

Student flees from questioning RA

On Oct. 30, 2005, at about 12:08 a.m., an RA at Parkhurst Hall attempted to question a student on his hall about events that had occurred earlier. The student ran away during the questioning. Contact was later made with the student, who was very deceptive during questioning. After some further questioning, the student admitted to running from the RA. A Student Disciplinary Action was written on the student.

Gas leak found in Sodexho kitchen

On Oct. 22, 2005, at about 7:34 p.m., Officer Grant was sent to the cafeteria at MSU about a gas leak in the kitchen. A Sodexho employee reported that he had smelled a strong odor of gas between the griddle and deep fryer. Officer Grant shut the valve to the gas supply line, and found that one of the flex hoses was loose. He tightened the hose down, then turned the flow of the gas back on, and did not smell gas. Officer Grant then re-sealed the valve, and called the Physical Plant to come check and service the equipment the following morning.

Three students found with alcohol, marijuana

On Oct. 30, 2005, at about 12:53 a.m., an RA in Parkhurst Hall reported that he could smell marijuana coming from two rooms on his hall. Officer G. Williams responded and contacted the students in the room. Three students were found in the room, and one was found with small amounts of marijuana in his pocket. The same student also admitted to having more marijuana in his car. All three students were arrested and taken to the Milledgeville Police Department and were charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol. Two of the students were also charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.

Solicitor Ousted from Front Campus

On Oct. 25, 2005, at about 2:15 p.m., Officer Sposito was sent to Front Campus regarding a male soliciting students for money. Contact was made with the solicitor who was banned from all GC&SU property for a year.
