Student pulled over, not punished due to fight
On Oct. 7, 2005, at approximately 2:28 a.m., Officer G. Williams observed a vehicle on Montgomery Street with no taillights. A traffic stop was initiated and contact made with the driver. While talking to the driver, Officer Williams could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. Field Sobriety tests were performed and while conducting the tests, Officer Williams received a call in reference to a fight in progress on campus. The driver was released to a friend and a Student Disciplinary was completed on him.
Students misuse fire extinguisher at Bobcat Village
On Oct. 7, 2005, at approximately 1:00 a.m., an employee reported that unknown person(s) discharged a fire extinguisher in the hallway near Room 6203 at Bobcat Village. There are no suspects at this time.
Grease burns student, sets off alarm
On Oct. 8, 2005, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Officer Campbell was dispatched to Bobcat Village in reference to a fire alarm. Contact was made with the resident, who stated she had been cooking with grease, and it began to smoke heavily. The student attempted to remove the pan from her room and carry it to the hallway, where she spilled the grease and burned herself. EMS was called, but the student refused treatment. Milledgeville Fire Department responded and ventilated the room and hallway.
Student solicited for money at Bobcat Village
On Oct. 9, 2005, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a student reported that a female tried to solicit money from her in the parking lot at Bobcat Village. The female told her that she was pregnant and needed gas money. The woman was described as a white female, pale in complexion, approximately 40 years of age, short brown hair, 5’4″ tall and a heavy-set build. The student advised the female was driving an older model light blue two door Oldsmobile.
Two drivers collide in quest for parking space
On Oct. 7, 2005, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Officer Campbell was dispatched to West Campus in reference to an accident. A female student reported that she was attempting to pull into a parking space when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a male student, who advised that he was also trying to pull into the parking space not knowing that the female student was already pulling into the same space. There was moderate damage to both vehicles. There were no injuries reported.
Hanging tag stolen from employees car
On Oct. 10, 2005, at approximately 4:45 p.m., an employee, reported that between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on October 10, unknown person(s) entered his vehicle and stole the “A” hanging parking tag from his vehicle while it was parked in the Wilkinson Street lot. There was no sign of forced entry to the vehicle, and nothing else was taken from the vehicle.
