Missing smoke detector reveals marijuana use
On Oct. 2, 2005, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Officer G. Williams was dispatched to West Campus in reference to a smoke detector being removed from a room. Officer Williams entered the room and observed what he believed to be marijuana stems in a cup on the living room table. Contact was made with the two residents, both students, who stated they had been smoking marijuana in the room prior to Officer Williams’ arrival. A small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia were confiscated, and both subjects were arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department and charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
Harassment on street leads to fisticuffs
On Sept. 30, 3005, at approximately 2:08 a.m., Sgt. Ennis saw a suspicious male on the corner of Hancock and Wayne Street who appeared to have been in a fight. Contact was made with the student, who advised that he and his female friend were walking on the sidewalk and two unknown males approached them and made inappropriate comments to his female friend. When the student stopped, one of the males hit him in the face and then both ran off. The student did not request medical attention.
Drunken student arrested trying to destroy signs
On Sept. 30, 2005, at approximately 10:18 p.m., Officer G. Williams was dispatched to the area of the mansion in reference to a male pulling up signs and trying to tear them up. Contact was made with the student, who admitted to tampering with the signs. The student admitted that he had been drinking and blew a .147 on the Alco-Sensor and stated he also had alcohol in his dorm room. Housing was called to remove the alcohol, and the student was arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department and charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol.
Student refuses to abide by library closing time
On Oct. 3, 2005, at approximately 10:59 p.m., two library employees reported that an unruly student would not leave the premises. Contact was made with the complainants who advised they were closing the library 2nd floor area when a student entered the area. He was told that they were closed, but the student refused to leave and went in and used the copier anyway. The student also refused to produce an ID when asked by employees. A Student Disciplinary was filed on the student.
Unknown dents appear on student’s car
On Sept. 30, 2005, at approximately 10:47 p.m., a student reported that her vehicle had been damaged. Contact was made with the student at Hancock and Liberty Streets, where the student showed Officer G. Williams several dents on the drivers’ side of the vehicle. It did not appear to have been caused by another vehicle and there was no evidence of what may have happened. Pictures were taken of the damage.
Locked out of room, locked up for drinking
On Oct. 1, 2005, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Officer G. Williams was dispatched to West Campus in reference to a person hitting the columns at the entrance of the building. Contact was made with the student, who was very intoxicated and stated that his friend had locked him out of his room, and he was very upset. The student was tested on the Alco-Sensor and registered .158. He was then arrested and transported to the Milledgeville Police Department and charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol.
