A Fan’s Note
October is finally here, and that could mean only one thing – playoffs.
Well, I guess it could mean more than just baseball if you’re one of those people.
But I am a fan, and I’m going to assume that you are, too.
Now, what is one thing every sports writer has to do when it’s time for the playoffs?
Make picks.
I wasn’t going to make any picks because I know there is no way I can be 100 percent correct, and every wrong answer will make me look stupid.
Also, there is no way I can make picks without allowing just a little bit of bias to creep in.
Then I decided that I really didn’t care.
Of course, there is not enough room in my column to break down every single pick and tell you why I think a team will win.
To be honest with you, I don’t think that there are any dominant teams in the playoffs.
Except for the Padres, I don’t think that a win by any team can truly be considered an upset.
The only team that coasted into the playoffs was the Cardinals.
Every other team was fighting until the last week to secure their spot in the postseason.
That being said, here are my picks.
