Dear Editor,
Order of Omega was on voted by the Senate to become an officially recognized RSO (Recognized Student Organization) this week. Order of Omega is a nationally recognized leadership organization that recognizes men and women from fraternities or sororities who display leadership in their fraternity and sorority and involved in community service.
Daniel Troutman was honored as Senator of the Month for the September for his work with SGA, including work on the student services committee and assistance with public relations.
The Bookstore Task Force headed by Michael Haun of Auxiliary Services met Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. to address the issue of increasing prices of textbooks. The task force is working with students, faculty, and the bookstore to alleviate the costs of textbooks and improve the relations and communication between the students and the bookstore. Students who are interested in the committee are encouraged to attend the meeting Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m. in Atkinson Room 202.
CAB (Campus Activities Board), in conjunction with SGA, is sponsoring “Batman Begins” for Movie Night Friday at 8:00 p.m. in Magnolia Ballroom. There will be free food and drinks at the movie night as well.
SGA is actively participating with the core curriculum revision committee to gain input as to the view of the student body in the area of core curriculum. Students are encouraged to give their opinion as well and can find more information about it by contacting Vice-President Zaira Solano at zaira_solano@bobcat.gcsu.edu.
SGA meetings are on Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dogwood Conference Room in the Student Activities Center, and they are open to the Bobcat community. If you have any ideas or concerns, please feel free to attend one of the meetings.
Sincerely,
Daniel Troutman
