Drunken student floods suite

On Sept. 23, 2005, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Officer G. Williams was dispatched to Parkhurst in reference to a broken toilet. Contact was made with the residents of the room and their suitemates. All stated they had been drinking. The last student to see the toilet in its normal condition stated that he had vomited in the toilet and then had taken a long shower. The student advised he was still in the shower when the RA arrived and found both rooms flooded. The student stated he did not know what happened to the toilet, but would take the blame since two of the suitemates were asleep and the other was at another dorm. All four subjects were arrested and transported to Milledgeville Police Department and charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol. Disciplinary Notices were completed.

File-sharing program takes money from student’s account

On Sept. 23, 2005, at approximately 12:00 p.m., a student reported that on September 22 he had downloaded a MP3 file-sharing program that would cost 99 cents a month to use. The student advised that he gave the site his personal information, including his debit card information. Upon discovering that the program did not work, he contacted his bank and discovered that $52 had been taken out of his account without his permission. This case is under investigation.

Flea bombs in Bobcat Village set off fire alarm

On Sept. 26, 2005, at approximately 9:54 a.m., Officer Sposito was dispatched to Bobcat Village building 100 in reference to a fire alarm. Contact was made with the residents of the room, who had set off a number of flea bombs due to a cat being in their room, causing the fire alarm to activate. Milledgeville Fire Department responded and used fans to air out the room so the alarm could be reset. The case was turned over to the Community Director for Disciplinary Action.

Safety inspection discovers student’s drug stash

On Sept. 26, 2005, at approximately 7:28 p.m., hours a Community Director at Bobcat Village reported that he found a controlled substance in a room while performing a health/safety inspection. The Community Director stated he found a small amount of marijuana in the living room and bedroom. Contact was made with the occupant of the room, and he gave permission to search his room. Paraphernalia was also found in the room, and the student admitted the items belonged to him. The student was arrested and transported to Milledgeville Police Department and charged with Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana. The marijuana and paraphernalia were placed into evidence.

Students’ rowdy behavior destroys doorframe

On Sept.r 27, 2005, at approximately 12:04 a.m., Officer G. Williams was dispatched to Foundation Hall in reference to a broken doorframe. Contact was made with the residents of the room and they advised that they were horseplaying in the hallway, when one of the residents closed the door and the other resident ran into the door and broke the doorframe. There was significant damage to the doorframe. A Disciplinary Notice was completed for both students for the cost of repairing the door.

Vending machine found open, candy missing

On Sept. 27, 2005, at approximately 7:12 a.m., the custodial crew in Arts and Science reported that a vending machine was unsecured with a number of candy items missing. Officer Sposito responded and observed that the machine did not appear to have any signs of forced entry and all the currency appeared to be in order. This case is under investigation.
