Cronvall leads golf team in tourney
Johan Cronvall stayed two-under-par for three rounds, but the GC&SU golf team, which was one of only two NCAA Division II teams in a largely Division I field, finished 12th out of 14 teams at the Raines Development Group Intercollegiate Tournament held Monday and Tuesday at the Country Club of South Carolina. USC Aiken fired a final-round, three-over-par 291 team score to finish the tournament at 15-under-par 849. The score smashed the tournament record of 4-under-par 860, established by Jacksonville State University in 1998.

GC&SU will be back in action October 3-4 at the Columbus State Invitational in Columbus, Ga.

Moran named as PBC player of the week
GC&SU’s Meredith Moran was named the Peach Belt Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. Moran is the second GC&SU soccer player to ever receive this award, after the Bobcat’s Tami Pissott won the award in September 2004.
Moran led the Bobcats to three straight victories last week by scoring four goals in three games. She had back-to-back games with two goals.
Nine of Moran’s 11 shots were on goal, and she had the game winning goal at USC Aiken. She scored two goals in the Bobcat’s 3-0 victory over Lambuth last Wednesday, and followed that with two more goals on Saturday in the 3-1 win at USC Aiken. She is currently ranked third in the PBC in points per game.
Moran leads the team with five goals this season.
Moran and the Bobcats return to action at home Saturday at 7.p.m.
