Girl groped by passerby on street

On September 1, 2005, at approximately 2:22 a.m., a male student reported to Sgt. Ennis that his girlfriend had been groped. Contact was made with the female and she stated that as she was walking on Hancock Street at approximately 1 a.m. near City Hall, an unknown white male walked up to her and grabbed her by the wrist and began to grope her against her will. She stated that she was able to break free and ran to her friends who were walking ahead of her. The male was described as white, medium build, brown curly shaggy hair, about 5’10″, high cheekbones and wearing a yellow shirt and blue shorts.

Marijuana bust in Foundation Hall

On September 6, 2005 at approximately 7:46 p.m., a Resident Assistant at Foundation Hall reported smelling marijuana. Sgt. Ennis and Officer Lance responded and made contact with the room’s occupant. Two other students were in the room. A search of the room found a small amount of suspected marijuana and drug paraphenalia. One of the students also had a small amount of suspected marijuana in her possession. Two were arrested and transported to Milledgeville Police Department and charged with VGCSA misdemeanor: Possession of Marijuana. The other was released from the scene pending student disciplinary charges.

Items stolen from parked vehicle

On September 1, 2005 at approximately 5:19 p.m., a student reported that unknown person(s) had entered his vehicle while it was parked in the Centennial Center and removed a CD player, CDs and a football ring. The point of entry was found on the driver’s side window. The case was turned over to Detective Butler.

Drunken student passes out in Wells Hall

On September 3, 2005 at approximately midnight, Officer G. Williams was dispatched to Wells Hall in reference to a student who was intoxicated and passed out. Contact was made with the student, who was transported by EMS to Oconee Regional Medical Center. The student’s parents were notified and a Notice of Student Discipline was completed for Underage Possession of Alcohol.

Man caught swimming in reflection pool

On September 1, 2005 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Officer Campbell was dispatched to the reflection pool on Greene Street in reference to a person swimming in it. When Officer Campbell arrived on scene, the suspect exited the pool and attempted to run away. A foot chase ensued and the student was taken into custody. The student was charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol and transported to Milledgeville Police Department.

Vehicle tagged with used chewing gum

On August 26, 2005 at approximately 1:15 p.m., a student reported that unknown person(s) put some chewing gum on the driver’s side door of his vehicle while it was parked behind Napier Hall.

Man found to have self inflicted wounds

On September 4, 2005 at approximately 10:25 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Oconee Regional Medical Center Emergency Room in reference to a student who had self-inflicted wounds. The student stated he did not know how he had gotten cut. Blood was found on the floor at his residence. The students parents were notified.
