Come support your Bobcats
The best play here, and you already have a front-row seat! Georgia College & State University Athletics is gearing up for another great year, and now we need you, the student-body, to show your support. Just show your student ID and you get into all home athletics events for FREE
With convenient game times and a fan friendly environment, it’s much better than watching re-runs of “The Real World” on MTV, and it’s certainly better than driving home to watch mom do your laundry.
Haven’t been to a game? Here’s the deal. The Bobcats have a proud tradition of excellence in athletics.
GC&SU sponsors 10 varsity sports which compete at the NCAA Division II level in the Peach Belt Conference. With 23 national championships to its credit since the conference formed in 1991, it is widely recognized as one of the top D-II conferences in the country.
We not only have great teams and great facilities, but there are also chances for fans to win great prizes at many of the home events. To find all the latest news about the Bobcats, including schedules, please visit the GC&SU Athletics Web site at www.gcsu.edu/bobcats.
Soccer
The women’s soccer team kicks off the sports year during the Week of Welcome. The team is only in its second year as a varsity sport, and hopes are already high for run at the conference title. The Bobcats play their home games at the West Campus. Get a seat on the hill and you could also win great prizes and compete in halftime promotions.
Cross Country
Men’s and women’s cross country also has its season in the fall, and Bobcat runners have re-written the school record books in each of the last several seasons.
Basketball
Men’s and women’s basketball tips off in November as the Bobcats and Lady Bobcats play their home games in the Centennial Center. Get behind the opponent’s goal and make some noise! Both GC&SU teams have enjoyed tremendous success.
The GC&SU men’s team has won three Peach Belt Conference Championships (1997, 1999, and 2000), two PBC Tournament titles (1997, 2000) and reached the NCAA Tournament three times (1997, 1999, 2000), including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2000.
The Lady Bobcats have won two Peach Belt Regular Season Championships (1991, 1996), three PBC Tournament titles (1996, 2002, 2004), and has made four trips to the NCAA Tournament (1996, 1997, 2002, 2004), going all the way to the Sweet Sixteen in 2004.
Once again, you get in a free with your ID, and you can also win great prizes including a 27″ flat screen television.
Cheerleading
The GC&SU cheerleaders perform at all home basketball games, and the Bobcats have won numerous conference competitions and three national championships (1998, 1999, 2001). The Bobcats were also the national runner-up in 2003 and 2005.

In the spring, head back over the Peeler Complex (West Campus) for GC&SU baseball and softball.
The GC&SU baseball team has been nationally ranked every year for more than a decade and has made five trips to the NCAA Tournament (1995, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2002) including the College World Series in 1995 where the team finished as the National Runner Up.
