The GC&SU Public Safety Report

* On April 11, at approximately 3:27 p.m., an employee reported that between March 31 and April 7, two microphones were stolen from the University Banquet Room. There are no suspects at this time.

* On April 12, at approximately 5:44 p.m., a student reported that while she was entering the driveway at Bobcat Village, a baseball struck her vehicle causing a small dent on the driver’s side rear door near the window. When Officer Yates arrived at Bobcat Village, there was no one on the main softball field and a little league team on the side field near West Campus Drive.

* On April 19, at approximately 9:53 p.m., an RD in Bell Hall reported that a student got angry and punched the window in his room, breaking out the center. A work order was placed with Physical Plant to repair the window.

* On April 21, at approximately 1 a.m., Officer Ennis observed a male run out of the Exchange Bank parking lot on Hancock Street. Contact was made with the man and when asked why he was running, he stated he had to make curfew with his youth minister on Columbia Street. Sgt. Ennis got his information and released him. After Sgt. Ennis left the scene, Milledgeville Police Department Officers advised that they were looking for a male that matched the description of the man who was caught running out of the parking lot. At 3:50 a.m., Sgt. Ennis found the man at his residence on Columbia Street and turned him over to the Milledgeville Police Department.

* On April 21, at approximately 9:43 p.m., a student reported that there were parties being held at Bobcat Village building 300 on Thursday nights. The student stated that for the past year, she and her roommates have been kept up at night by loud noises and people banging around at all hours of the night. They wanted to file a formal complaint so that something can be done if this type of activity continues.

* On April 26, at approximately 1:47 a.m., the owner of the Watering Hole on Hancock Street flagged down Officer Dixon and reported that two males had just stolen two beer glasses and some bread from his place of business. The owner said the subjects left heading south on Wayne Street. Officer Dixon observed two subjects matching the description of the offenders walking on Wayne Street. When they saw the patrol car, the subjects ran into a wooded area behind the BB&T Bank. The two male students were apprehended by Officer Dixon and Sgt. Ennis hiding in the bushes. When asked why they ran, they said because one of the suspects was underage and had been consuming alcohol. Both subjects were taken back to the Watering Hole where Mr. Pickard positively identified both subjects. The owner of the Watering Hole did not want to press criminal charges, but wanted them trespassed from his establishment. The suspect who was underage was arrested, transported to Milledgeville Police Department and charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol. A Student Disciplinary was written on both students.

* On April 18, at approximately 7:44 a.m., a CHOATE Construction employee reported that over $4,500 worth of tools and equipment were stolen from the construction site at West Campus. The employee advised that between April 16 and April 18, an unknown person(s) cut the lock off the construction trailers and removed the items. The case was turned over to Detective Butler.
