The GC&SU Public Safety Report

* On April 6, at approximately 2:10 a.m., Office D. Williams was dispatched to the Paw Prints Bookstore in reference to an alarm activation. The interior of the building was checked and nothing was found to be disturbed. The alarm was reset and the building was resecured. Officer Williams was unable to determine what activated the alarm. The building manager was notified.

* April 6, at approximately 10:45 p.m., Officer G. Williams responded to a fire alarm at Russell Library. Upon doing a search of the building, he found a student upstairs using a computer. After questioning him as to why he was in the building, the student said he entered the building when the alarm was going off and just ignored it. He stated he had school work to finish that was due later in the day. The student was escorted from the building until it was determined that it was safe to return. The student was issued a Disciplinary Action Notice.

* April 7, at approximately 1:37 a.m., Officer Tuft was dispatched to Wells Hall in reference to a student who was unresponsive. The RA on duty said the student had possibly been drinking and was unresponsive. EMS responded and transported the student to Oconee Regional Medical center.

* On April 7, at approximately 2:34 a.m., contact was made with Milledgeville Police Officer Harris in reference to students damaging mail boxes and taking street signs. Contact was made with three students, who had two signs in their possession. The students were turned over to GC&SU police. A Notice of Student Disciplinary Action was written on all three students.

* On April 8, at approximately 12:38 a.m., Sgt. Ennis was dispatched to the Old Governor’s Mansion in reference to an intrusion alarm. Sgt. Ennis walked the entire property and checked all doors, windows and out buildings. He found that all was secure with no signs of forced entry.

* On April 8, at approximately 3:18 a.m., Sgt. Ennis responded to 211 N. Clarke Street in reference to an emergency call box activation. Contact was made with a female student, who advised she had gotten separated from her friends downtown and was lost and scared. As Sgt. Ennis was talking with the student, her friends arrived and took her home.
