Name the GC&SU portal, win a new iPod Shuffle

For several months, a campus team has been working on the new GC&SU Luminis Pipeline Portal.

The new tool will be similar to the “My Yahoo” or “My Netscape” Web pages. When launched this summer, the “door to the university” will provide a single password sign-on to services such as e-mail, PAWS, WebCT and other protected areas. In addition, once inside, “tabs and channels” will provide news, chatrooms, targeted messaging, personal calendars and much more.

Although some institutions use the MyGCSU concept, many use creative names like Rampoint or BlazeNet. The GC&SU portal is in need of a great one-word name.

The campus team will review suggestions and the students, in a vote using PAWS, will select the final name. The lucky winner will receive a new Apple Shuffle iPod.

To see basic samples of other portals or to submit a name before April 13,2005 go to: http://namethatportal.gcsu.edu.
