Several silver linings for Cross Country
Disappoint reigned for the men and women’s cross country teams at the University of Southern Main Twin Brook Cross Country Invitational Oct. 16. The men finished eleventh out of 12 teams, while the women finished last out of 12 teams. However, the women had three runners enter the school’s record books. Bethany Loushine ran the fourth fastest time in school history for the 6k. Loushine logged a time of 26:56 but was only good enough for 64th place. Crystal Sutton ran the seventh fastest time finishing in 27:43 good enough for 71st place. Kellie Hughes tied the ninth fastest time finishing at 27:52 good enough for 72nd overall.
Women soccer shut-out in PBC contest
The women’s soccer team lost 2-0 at University of North Carolina at Pembroke Oct. 16. GC&SU (4-7-2, 0-3-2 PBC) was not able to get their offense going and were only able to muster 4 shots against the Braves (11-2-1, 3-1-1 PBC). The Lady Bobcats next play at University of South Carolina at Upstate Oct. 23.
