GC&SU prepares for International Week
Georgia College & State University will be celebrating International Week Oct. 27-29. Sponsored by the International Education Center, this event will showcase other cultures through numerous activities.
Libby Davis, international student adviser, said GC&SU currently has over 100 international students on campus.
“This is a week to celebrate other countries and cultures and to focus on world issues,” said Davis.
International student Asya Krasteva said International Week will be very beneficial to all students.
“The International Week is very important because it provides information about the many opportunities the university gives us, like study abroad for example. The International Day provides first hand information about some of the countries which are represented in GC&SU,” said Krasteva. “It tells us about the different cultures by beautiful country displays and a great entertainment show. Look forward to some great things like an Indian dance.”
In an Oct. 19 press release, Dr. Dwight Call, assistant vice president for International Education, said GC&SU has a long history of supporting international education.
“GC&SU has a long tradition of incorporating international education into the curriculum, and, for many years, faculty and staff have given strong support to bother international and study abroad students,” said Call.
