Public Safety Report
* On October 4, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a GC&SU employee reported that while cutting the grass in the 100 block of Clarke Street, the lawn mower he was operating slipped down a hill and struck a parked vehicle causing moderate damage to the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle was contacted.
* On October 8, at approximately 2:21 a.m., Sgt. Self observed a vehicle on Clarke Street disregard a traffic light. A traffic stop was initiated and contact made with the driver. Sgt. Self could smell the odor of an alcoholic type beverage coming from the man’s breath and person. The man’s eyes were bloodshot, his speech was slurred and he tested positive on the Alco-Sensor. The man was arrested and transported to Milledgeville Police Department and charged with DUI.
* On October 8, at approximately 12 p.m., an employee reported that he had left a Motorola radio, which belongs to the Fire Department, on his golf cart at Bell Hall. When he returned to the cart, the radio was missing. The radio is valued at $800. Serial numbers will be provided at a later date.
* On October 8, at approximately 1:45 a.m., Public Safety was dispatched to Parkhurst Hall in reference to a student vomiting and needing EMS. Contact was made with the male student, who admitted to drinking alcohol earlier that evening. EMS arrived and transported the student to Oconee Regional Medical Center for detox.
* On October 8, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a student in Parkhurst Hall reported that between Oct. 6 and Oct. 7, an unknown person removed $40 from her wallet that was in her room. The student does not suspect her roommate and is not sure if she had any visitors during that time. This case is under investigation.
* On October 11, at approximately 9:55 p.m., Public Safety was dispatched to Adams Hall in reference to a sick student. Contact was made with the female student who said she was having trouble breathing and her skin appeared to be red. EMS responded and transported the student to Oconee Regional Medical Center for treatment.
* On October 12, at approximately 12 p.m., a GC&SU employee reported to Public Safety that an older white male was on the third floor of Parks Hall making death threats. Contact was made with the suspect near the old courthouse. The man was placed under arrest and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
