Mohawk Inc. invites community to fair
The local branch of Mohawk Industries, Inc. will be holding it’s first health fair on Sept 21 & 22 from 4-8 p.m. The fair is mainly for the employee’s benefits, but Mohawk and many of the organizations being represented at the fair are extending an invitation for GC&SU students to volunteer at the fair.
The American Red Cross, the United Way, The Oconee Family Medical Center, Kathy’s Eye Care and Mid South Credit Union are just a few of the organizations that will be represented at the fair.
The Milledgeville chapter of the Red Cross will be distributing information about disaster prevention that ranges from what to do during a fire to how to prepare if Hurricane Ivan strikes Milledgeville as well as soliciting volunteers for different programs.
Larry Enterkin, site manager for Mohawk, says that the company is pushing towards a more general wellness for employees and their families. There will be food, fun and games for the adults, kids and volunteers to enjoy.
