Literary magazine brings poet to campus

Stephen Corey, Associate Editor of the Georgia Review since 1983, has authored ten poetry collections. His most recent collection, “There is No Finished World” and “Greatest Hits, 1980-2000.”

Corey’s poetry, essays and critical pieces have appeared in “The American Poetry Review,” “The Poetry Anthology 1912-2002,” “The Laurel Review,” “Poets and Writers” and many other works.

Corey has taught at the University of Florida and the University of South Carolina.

He has received grants from the state arts councils of Georgia, Florida and South Carolina, and also received the John Atherton Fellowship in Poetry at the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference.

Those students who are aspiring poets or like to hear poetry are invited to hear Corey Speak in Georgia College & State University’s Arts & Science Auditorium on Sept. 15 at 4:00 p.m.

This event, sponsored by GC&SU’s literary magazine, The Peacock’s Feet, is free and open to the public.
