New Bobcat Card offers convenient “one-card” system for GC&SU
Haven’t used your Bobcat Card for much in the past? That’s about to change! The all-new Bobcat Card debuts this August.
In addition to serving as your official GC&SU photo ID card, the new card gives you access to finances, facilities and services all over campus. It is truly an all-inclusive “one-card” system.
Starting this fall, your Bobcat Card will be an accepted for the payment of tuition and fees at the Business Office, and for payment of purchases at both locations of PawPrints Bookstore, the MSU Dining Hall, Chick-fil-A, The Ice Box, The Pit and Books & Brew (the new coffee cafe located in the atrium of Russell Library). In the MSU Dining Hall, the card will also serve as a meal plan card. Snack and beverage purchases may be paid for with the Bobcat Card at the vending areas in the Arts & Sciences Building and Atkinson Hall. The card will also be used for access to gated parking and doors at Bobcat Village and for door access at Adams, Foundation, Napier, Parkhurst, Sanford and Wells Residence Halls. In addition, the card will be used to access library services and to attend university events.
Future plans include expanding the card system for laundry vending, copier vending, pay-for-print in computer labs and use with many off-campus merchants including downtown restaurants.
The CatCash Account
As a personal debit card, the Bobcat Card allows you to draw upon pre-deposited funds for the purchase of products and services. To make a purchase, just present or swipe your card wherever the Bobcat Card is accepted. The amount of your purchase will be deducted from your CatCash Account.
Account balance information is provided after every transaction. Cashiers can also conduct a balance inquiry for you, or you can simply access and manage your account anytime via the online card office at www.gcsu.edu/bobcatcard.
CatCash included with meal plans (formerly known as “flex dollars” or “bonus dollars”) is automatically applied to your Bobcat Card CatCash Account, and may be used for purchases anywhere the card is accepted.
All CatCash Account balances roll forward across semesters and academic years. Refunds of account balances greater than $20 may be requested upon graduation or official withdrawal.
Deposits
After your initial deposit of $5 or more into your CatCash Account, additional deposits can be made as desired. Cash, checks, money orders and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express) are accepted.
