The Student Health Clinic:

The Student Health Clinic provides confidential assessment and treatment of most illnesses and minor injuries. The Health Services staff can also provide advice and counseling about diet, nutrition, eating disorders, alcohol and drug use, sexually transmitted diseases, exercise, stress and many other health-related topics.

Student Health Services is staffed by certified Nurse Practitioners who hold daily clinics, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the treatment of acute minor injuries and illnesses. Most medications that may be prescribed are provided on-site and maintained by a part-time pharmacist. Student Health Service’s Medical Director, a family practice physician, is always available for consultation/referral. If necessary, the nurse practioners can also make referrals to other community specialists and order labs and x-rays at the local hospital.

Visits to Student Health Services are covered by the student health fee. There is a minimal charge for certain medications and lab services. Students must be currently enrolled at Georgia College & State University and present a valid GC&SU ID in order to receive services through the clinic.

Student Health Services is located in Parks Nursing building, at the corner of Montgomery and N. Wilkinson Streets, and can be contacted at 445-5288.
