The Voice

Every week we here at The Colonnade sit around conjuring up issues that we think you all need to know about. Yet, we always reserve one section of the paper to showcase our opinions. We like to call this section “The Voice.”
In one year, we have written about the state legislature’s wishes to cut back the HOPE Scholarship. We’ve written about the interesting (and sometimes superfluous) moves made by the Milledgeville City Council. We’ve reported on the dangers of Senioritis, and who could forget our groundbreaking expose on Janet Jackson’s areolas?
However, for many of us at The Colonnade, our days left writing for you guys are numbered. Now, if you’re not a fan of ours, you may be thanking your lucky stars that we won’t be here to torture you anymore. But we’re not done with you guys yet. After all, we do have one more issue.
During this time of year you may see a certain group of students here at Georgia College & State University running around mumbling unintelligibly about graduation and searching for jobs. This interesting bunch are also known as the Seniors of our school.
You may find this fascinating group staring wistfully at the columns on front campus. They may linger a little longer at happy hour, or wipe away a tear when you remind them about Wing Night.
We here at The Colonnade would like to wish the Seniors all the luck in the world. We know that you are destined for greatness. But don’t get so bogged down with job applications that you forget to enjoy the time you’ve got left at GC&SU. Make sure that you do not leave this place without experiencing everything you set out to do in college. And don’t forget to keep in touch!
