Baker named PBC Player of the Week

Georgia College & State University outfielder Aundrea Baker has been named the Peach Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Baker, a sophomore from Tyrone, Ga., becomes the first GC&SU player to win the weekly award since Jocelyn Lakani took home the honor on March 20, 2001. Former Lady Bobcat Jennifer Joiner earned Pitcher of the Week honors three times last season.
Baker batted .429 in four games, all wins, for the Lady Bobcats last week, with two inside the park home runs and four RBIs. She hit two inside the park home runs in the doubleheader sweep of Augusta State, including the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two. She also went 3-for-6 with a run scored to help GC&SU sweep No. 4 ranked University of North Florida in Jacksonville on Saturday.
