Its your right to know

Since my last article concerning the food sources on campus, Chick-Fil-A has greatly improved. I have noticed since my time back at school that the service is much better and there is always someone with their eye on the register or waiting to ring up your purchase. The food is not always prepared; however, during peak dining hours, all the employees are working to get people in and out quickly. I have often heard the phase, “I’m going to Chick-Fil-A to get something to eat.” This can only be due to the improvements they have made in running the restaurant.
However, words I don’t often hear are, “Can we please go to SAGA today?” I can’t really say I’m surprised. The food is less than perfect and the service isn’t that great. It seems that most of the people who work there are only there to look like they should be doing something. If you ask a question, good luck with a decent response. I don’t think our parents paid for us to eat half-baked pizza, hamburgers and grilled cheese all the time, yet this is what many students wind up eating.
One might think pointing out the weaknesses would help improve the circumstances. Maybe they don’t know the food is not cooked thoroughly. If you think about it, the ladies behind the glass don’t eat the food, they just serve it. Unfortunately, this is not the case. When a close friend of mine went up to make an employee aware that she was not cooking the pizza long enough, all she got was a response of “I know,” and a blank stare in return. If someone who pays to eat there has a complaint, then something should be done about it. Not to mention the safety of the food. Eating raw pizza cannot be healthy for anyone. Eating hamburgers and french fries isn’t all that healthy, either. I know it is the decision of the customer, what they decide to put on their plate, but when the meat is something that the lady behind the counter can’t even identify, why would I take the chance of eating it?
So much time is put into the classic and international lines, while other areas of the food court are neglected. Many times I have been in there trying to fix myself a sandwich, because it is the fastest thing to get when I’m trying to cram lunch in between classes, and the fixings are low or nonexistent. I don’t see a reason why this is. SAGA closes between meal hours. Can’t someone check the levels of the ketchup or mayo while the cafeteria is closed?
I hope my comments make the proper people aware of the situations occurring in SAGA, because obviously the courses of action that have been taken are not working.
