Air Force offers many educational opportunities
The Air Force is dedicated to the educational development of prospective applicants and the local Air Force recruiter can help establish a flight plan for a successful future.
There are a number of unique academic opportunities in the Air Force. The largest opportunity is the Community College of the Air Force. CCAF is America’s largest community college and the only degree-granting institution in the world dedicated entirely to Air Force personnel. Once sworn in, applicants are automatically enrolled in the CCAF. CCAF is a combination of on-duty and voluntary off-duty courses with classes and times that are flexible to meet a new airman’s needs. Both military members and educational instructors from affiliated colleges teach courses on and off base. After the completion of basic training and technical school, airmen are only a few college classes away from earning their associate’s degree from CCAF.
To help cover the cost of those off-duty college classes, the Air Force offers financial aid programs, such as tuition assistance, to help ensure educational dreams become a reality.
The Air Force Tuition Assistance program is designed to encourage and help active-duty members pursue voluntary, off-duty educational opportunities. The tuition assistance program is an important quality-of-life program that pays 100 percent (up to $250 per semester hour or equivalent) for college courses.
