Good-byes can be so hard …
Good-bye to you.
For the past year and a half Leah, Kim and Rebecca have been like the ‘jelly’ in a jelly donut.
Yes, sometimes donuts upset your stomach (just like all three of them have done to me); however, you still like to eat them.
I know I probably just confused half of the readers comparing three outstanding people to donuts, but seriously, all three of them will be sorely missed.
All three girls are graduating in December.
Leah (Gilligan) is probably the easiest and best person to work with. She gets all of the work done, is willing to her something new and, more importantly, can put a smile on anyone’s face. While working for The Colonnade, she had a great Variety section and moved her way up to managing editor with great enthusiasm. During her semester as managing editor, the news section has become much more newsworthy and the design of these pages has been outstanding. I am going to miss Leah, for her high spirits, good heart and for her “Go Dawgs, sick ‘em” chants. Leah, if you are ever feeling down, remember to get ‘the clap’ and everything will work out.
Kim is a great photographer. Over the past year and a half, Kim has made my job quite an interesting one. Yes, there have been arguments (several); yes, good times, but she is the real deal. I will always remember Kim getting her nice clothes dirty at any time for The Colonnade. She won first place for her photos in last year’s Sept. 11 issue. She truly is one of the best photographers around. Good luck to you in the future, and I wish you the best.
Finally, Rebecca with whom I’ve worked for about one year now, it’s been a great time. Commuting from Macon everyday can really put a lot of wear and tear on a person, but Rebecca remains in good spirits through tough times. Rebecca is someone who can always make you laugh and always lends an ear if you need someone to talk to. I know she is going to make something of herself, upon her graduation.
All three of these people are great for so many different reasons. I could have listed all of them but the newspaper is only so big. Girls, thank you for making both my job easier and my life better. Good luck.
